Summer is finally showing up in Montreal and we love it (although yesterday morning's light snow was a bit of a downer)! The streets are closing, the terraces are opening and the city comes to life! Really, there's nothing quite like summer in Montreal. From the Old-Port all the way downtown, passing by Places-des-arts, you'll find that there is a huge amount of events happening in Montreal. That's why, here at The Booklet, we decided to help you out so that you may enjoy your summer to the fullest. Here is our top 5 events you won't want to miss for the month of June…and of course we'll follow up with the ones for July and August, don't you worry!

Grand Prix

Make sure to circle the 9-10-11-12 of June with a red marker on your calendar because you don't want to miss out on Montreal's Grand Prix! Everywhere you'll go it'll be party time! What's more, Both Crescent street and Saint-Laurent Boulevard will open up to pedestrians! There'll be an exposition of real race cars (on Crescent); bars, clubs and restaurants will have their terraces out as a lineup of guest DJ entertain you 24/7 with their crazy beats! Vélo Festif

We're cheating it a bit because this activity started mid-March, but with the rising temperatures in June it will become a must-try! The company basically organises bicycle (if you can call it so) rides where everyone has to pedal in order to get to different places (aka bars) in Montreal! It's super original especially if you're looking for some new hot spots for you and your friends to party it out!

Ferreira' Anniversary

Source :

The Famous Ferreira (one of the best destinations of Portuguese cuisine) is celebrating its 20th anniversary on June 2nd! For the occasion, the establishment, located on Peel, is having a wine tasting event with Portuguese wine producers! Tickets for the event are on sale here and all the profits will be donated to the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation. Great night ahead!

Piknic életronik

Are you a fan of electronic music? Then this is the perfect event for you! Every Sunday until the month of October, you'll be able to have a picnic at the Jean Drapeau park all while enjoying an electronic music festival! The perfect outing for those hot summer days!

The FrancoFolies

Source :

The 28th edition of the FrancoFolies will be held from June 9th to June 18th (Of course we had to mention it). With well over a 1000 artists who will perform on different stages in Montreal (notably Place-des-arts) you are sure to discover your new favorite performer (Pssst! did you know that these artists are not only from Quebec, but from all around the world? So cool!)

Bonus Event: Saint-Jean-Baptiste

Source :

You didn't actually think we would write a top 5 of June events without mentioning Quebec's national day now did you?! Many events will be taking place in Montreal such as bicycle rides, magic shows and inflatable parks (for families), fireworks in the Old-Port and you can be sur that clubs and bars will be celebrating like there is no tomorrow!

Which events made the cut for your to-do list?
