Whether it’s to warm up, listen to a movie, do some shopping, or head out for an appointment… any reason is a good reason to wear knits! Now that sweater weather has FINALLY arrived, I’ve started exploring this season’s new offerings. A few online searches later… I’ve whittled down my wish list to these top five picks:

This one is beautiful in its simplicity! In fact, it’s that very same simplicity that makes it so versatile. Try pairing it with jeans, leggings or a skirt, for any number of looks. You could even, length permitting, wear it as a dress with a pair of tights and thigh high boots.

This knit is my top pick. It’s a little more chic than the others, given the understated elegance of the open back. My favourite way to wear it would be with a pair of contrasting faded high waisted jeans. What I like most about this sweater, is the option of wearing it with the knotted side either at the front or the back.

Seriously, isn’t the colour of this sweater absolutely divine? The soft powder pink might be especially appealing to those of you who prefer subtle colours. I can easily picture wearing this oversized style sweater with a pair of leggings (so comfortable!) and scooping my hair up into a messy bun.  You could also pair it with jeans or pale coloured shorts and your good ol’ white sneaks.

What would autumn be without a turtleneck or mock neck sweater to wear? It’s an absolute must-have. I especially like the tapered ends of the arms of this model. They’re more flattering than the oversized styles and will still look good pushed up your arms a little. As for what to wear with this sweater, it’s pretty simple… you can wear it with ANYTHING! For a typically autumnal style, I would just put on a dark burgundy lipstick. It would contrast beautifully with the colour of the sweater.

This last one is a little edgier; however, it’s every bit as pretty as the others. If the holes and the fringes appeal to you, this sweater might be for you! As for me, I’d pair it with either a leather or a jean jacket to lessen the “well worn” style. Add a pretty hat and you’re done!!

So, which sweater do you like best?
