I have to confess, I love eating grilled cheese. My love is so deep that I often pimp my grilled cheese from time to time. Personally, I also love avocado. I'd then suggest you to add a few slices of avocado into your grilled cheese, HEAVEN ON EARTH!

Since I'm trying to satisfy your taste buds, I'm inviting you to discover the Grilled Cheese Festival that is taking place till tomorrow. For a second edition, a few hundred of restaurants in Quebec will revisit their famous grilled cheese recipe. In the spirit, I prepared a list of places you should visit in the province. You've been warned, don't read the following if you're already hungry.

1 – Grilled cheese with Nutella and cheese curds (sweet tooth, attention!)

Ingredients : Grilled cheese on bread French toasts style, topped with cheddar cheese curds and Nutella.

Restaurant : Binerie chik from downtown Trois-Rivières

2 – LE TEMPS DES SUCRES (a must-try)

Ingredients : Square bread from Première Moisson, slowly cooked with braised ham buttock with beer and maple syrup, one year old cheddar and homemade baked beans.

Restaurant : Pub Edward, Quebec City

3 – Caramel pear (sweet and salty…a must!)

Ingredients : Bread with maple caramelized pears with the Rebel beer, braised pork and Raclette cheese from Oka.

Restaurant : Brasseur de Montréal, Montreal

4 – Liver crisis​ (good luck!)

Ingredients : Cranberry  and pecan bread from Arhoma factory, house-made praline and foie gras Nutella, 14 acres cheese from Fromagerie Médard and Oka  cheese from  Laiterie Charlevoix, slice of foie gras, candied apples in maple syrup and Griffon Rousse beer, all breaded and fried. Scoop of ice cream with maple syrup and bacon to accompany it.

5 – The Succulent (Its name says it all)

Ingredients : Homemade bread with nuts, topped with gruyere "Hercules" cheese, goat cheese "Beurasse", pickled beets in Malt oil, arugula, caramel made from our Brise du Lac beer.

Restaurant : Archibald Lac-Beauport, Lac-Beauport

Note that each meals cost around 10 and 15 dollars (before taxes). Even if some establishments offer side dishes, with or without additional charges.

Moreover, there's no need to live in Montreal or Quebec City in order to participate since Trois-Rivières, Victoriaville, Baie-Saint- Paul, Rimouski and Matane were added this year. To know more about the festival it's right this way.
