Enjoying is never an easy thing, having snow in March can be depressing. However, on the other side, we can learn to enjoy winter to the fullest. I'm a big fan of Sepaq's parks, yet I'll admit that I love going there once summer is here in order to go for a hike or even kayaking. I never thought I'd spend an overnight there. I did cross-country for the first time in over 10 years last winter. Even if I wore a huge Audvik winter jacket, I was too hot that I suffocated, I wanted to do it again. Well, this year, I've broke the 10-year cycle. Sepaq invited me to discover their natural cabins this winter. Going to Mont Tremblant during winter is as if you're in Dreamland, we loose ourselves in snowbanks and gusts of winds. We don't have any cell reception and get lost in the forest. Perfect getaway. However, we need to be prepared before heading to the wilderness: have food, water and warm clothes at arms reach.
As soon as we arrived, we went snowshoeing in order to discover the numerous trails the parks has to offer. And boy, there are plenty, from beginners to advanced. Going back to the chalet, we slowly prepared our meal with music accompanied by a great glass of wine. Doing this activity with my boyfriend was a delight. I'm always on my phone, and be able to live without technology for awhile was liberating. We went to bed early so that we could be fully refreshed for our next day's adventures.
Whenever you wake up early in the woods, you know you had a great night sleep. Insure to bring a blanket since the latter aren't provided. We had ours, thankfully. And forget the layers if you do cross-country, you'll be too hot believe me. I chose to only wear my winter running ensemble even if the mercury was below the -15 degree celsius mark. There are trails everywhere in the park, once again, for both beginners and avid cross-country enthusiasts. Everyone will have fun. You simply need to establish your path according to your mood. By heading to Sepaq's park with my boyfriend, we made sure to make this ordinary weekend one to remember and it made me love winter even more by doing so. Moreover, when the ski slopes are in poor condition, this could be a great alternative to save the day!
