Summer dresses are taking more and more space in my wardrobe during the hot season. It's so easy to put them one and hop, you're all set. Each year, when the new spring/summer collections hit the store, these dresses are the first one I look for, since I don't wear them often in winter; I'd rather opt for a jeans and sweater combo. In the spirit, here are 6 sun dresses that have caught my attention among some of my favourite Quebec based designers.
1. Bessie dress (in pink) from Marigold by Marilyne Baril
I truly love Marigold, I received one of her summer dress from last year's collection when I attended the fashion show and since then, wore the dress obsessively. I always get compliments whenever I wear the latter. With her new s/s collection, Marilyne innovates once again. I love her loose-fitted cuts, unique patterns and most importantly, this dress in particular with the straps, neckline that are out of this world. Big favourite RIGHT HERE to pre-order
2. Mélie grey dress from Coeur de loup
When I saw the latest Coeur de Loup collection, I right away took a look at it. My favourite piece at first glance was this casual dress. You know, the type of garment you'd wear on any summer day just for the comfort and because it's effortlessly chic. By showing a bit of skin, she has an interesting twist and yet, remains simple and easy to wear. HERE.
3. Diane dress from Betina Lou
This classy dress reminds me of a ballerina. I love the fitted cut that makes the latter timeless. It's the type of clothing that lasts and can easily be accessorized according on your mood HERE.
4. Lisbon dress from Bodybag by Jude
I don't think it's surprise if I tell you floral are coming back strong this season. Well, here's a great example! I love the square neckline, I mean I feel we don't see them enough this year! This dress is closed at the back with the help of a silver leather zipper. Summer inspired with its short length, I love how the pattern isn't colourful, which makes this item more timeless in a way.HERE.
5. Vanessa dress from Meemoza
We often work in collaboration with Meemoza and love the simple aspect of the brand and how everything is eco-friendly. This Vanessa dress (in chambray which looks like denim) is a must-have. It can be worn with or without a t-shirt or a long-sleeve shirt underneath, which allows you to style this dress several ways.I love the look with this little stripped t-shirt. Boyish yet cute.HERE.
6. Fern dress by Valérie Dumaine
I love the über minimalist cut of Valérie Dumaine's creation. Looks a bit more chic which is perfect for work or at a trendy restaurant for the evening. Know that this deep green colour is in the fashion for this season, therefore this piece of clothing is one of the most prized items to own this summer. HERE.
