When your big day arrives, you will be in the spotlight. Here are a few tips to help you look your best in your wedding day photos.
Hydration. You’ve heard it before, but it bears repeating, staying hydrated will keep your skin glowing. Keeping your lips hydrated will prevent them from splitting and becoming uncomfortable. Dealing with chapped lips on a workday is one thing but having chapped lips on your wedding day is quite another! Make sure you’re well hydrated by drinking lots of water in the weeks preceding your big day. A lip balm doesn’t take up much space in your handbag.
This next tip is easier said than done. Try not to worry about how you’ll look in your wedding day photos. Granted, it’s completely natural to want to look ABSOLUTELY stunning, but try to stay relaxed. Try to ignore the cameras. Instead, do like the divas do, act like the cameras don’t even exist. You’ll feel more relaxed and you’ll look more natural in your wedding day pics.
Make sure that you feel comfortable in whatever you decide to wear. Otherwise, your discomfort will likely show by the way you hold yourself and no matter how hard you try, people will see it by the look on your face. When choosing your wedding dress, make sure it’s not uncomfortable. No “ah, it feels a little itchy, but hey, it’s not the end of the world” because YES! IT IS THE END OF THE WORLD! You’ll spend your wedding day feeling uncomfortable and it will show in your photos.
Live every moment in the here and now. Soak it all in. Allow yourself to be dazzled and amazed by everything around you. This day will go by extremely fast. If you can “be yourself”, you’ll feel more relaxed and you’ll look absolutely stunning in the photos taken on your special day. On the other hand, if you’re constantly worrying about the camera, you’ll be more focussed on posing than enjoying.
Don’t “pose”. It’s important to “be yourself”. If you were being photographed for the cover page of VOGUE, the photographer would give you the same advice.
