I tried something for the very first time last Friday morning: eyelash enhancement. Before I get into the details, I want you to know that I already consider myself spoiled in the eyelash department. I’ve never had any eyelash treatments and I seldom use mascara. Nonetheless, I jumped on the opportunity for eyelash enhancement when it was offered to me by Miss Cilia and The Booklet.
My eyelash enhancement consisted of a lash perm, followed by a lash tint to darken my lashes, topped off with a keratin treatment. The overall concept has been around for several years but the techniques involved have been refined over time and the results speak for themselves. The keratin treatment, though relatively new, plays an essential role in keeping your lashes well nourished, dense, and beautiful.
Eyelash enhancement is a durable option (lasting up to 8 weeks!) and can be an interesting alternative for people who are allergic to lash extension glue. The treatment is equally suitable for people with lashes that are pale and straight as well as people (like me) who have sensitive eyes. The treatment takes about 2 hours but rest assured, it is painless. The application of a patch under each eye is not overly pleasant but the discomfort is brief and essential if you don’t want to end up with raccoon eyes (oops). After that, you can sit back, close your eyes, and relax!
I’m very happy with the results. My lashes are lifted (curved upwards) and darker, all the while retaining a very natural look (which I love!). I highly recommend eyelash enhancement if you want to try an alternative to lash extensions or if the extensions irritate your eyes. Who knows, it might be your beauty revelation of the year! Just make sure that you deal with an experienced certified technician. After all, your eyes are precious.
