As we age, it's hard to know if I should put more makeup on simply because I'm getting older or by curiosity in order to try different techniques that are trendy. What's amazing today is with the rise in popularity of youtubers and blogs, you have access to the knowledge that only makeup artists previously held. As a teenager, I had no idea we could structure our face with powder outline, we could have larger eyebrows by filling in the latter with a pencil, it was possible to unify our complexion or that we could hide our signs of fatigue with concealer. Some will say we're simply creating needs, I rather think, that one makes life easier. Listening to YouTube's beauty gurus, I was able to step away from the "Makeup for Dummies" and direct myself to the "Yeah, not so bad in the end" category. I listened to the recommendations, I'm technical and I purchased the suggested product, however I forgot a crucial detail: we are all different which means we all require different shades. And then cue to the question round: what lipstick color goes with my complexion, which foundation is best suited to my skin type, which concealer goes with the chosen foundation?
I felt completely lost when I'm at the drugstore trying to find the perfect match to my foundation. It's way more complicated than watching Makeup Routine from 6m12 on YouTube let me tell you that. Why should we buy those two products separately? For a while now, one can live without the other. Concealer with foundation is like my milk to my cereal bowl, they are inseparable! Which is why a product such as Revlon's foundation and concealer ColorStay 2-in-1 truly brings me joy considering the latter taking care of the confusion regarding the search for both a foundation and a concealer. I think with those 12 available shades, it is possible to find the perfect product and to succeed in obtaining that unify complexion. Personally, I usually use liquid foundation that applies quite easily and I have to admit that when I first saw this formula in a compact and flat package, I was hesitant. Nevertheless, it covered everything I wished to hide such as my dark circles and stress pimples that were a result from my finals.
Personally I don't think the product stops there. The fact of combining a concealer with a foundation represents savings in money and space since my makeup bag is pretty tiny and I don't need to add unimportant products and praying my foundation bottle won't leak in my bag after a long day. Oh and for fitness addicts, you'll be glad to hear that if you ever go to the gym with makeup on, you'll still look amazing after a lunge session. If you're asking yourself if I've tested the product, I guarantee you that running to your final exam after waking up late is in fact a workout.
Finding my perfect foundation-concealer match saved me so many unnecessary purchases and 3 foundations that would've been 3 shades too dark which would also have accumulated in my drawer. I encourage you to try it and give us your impressions!
