I can hardly count the number of times someone has told me that if they can’t make it to the gym, then they can’t work out. Nothing could be further from the truth. Being active is first and foremost a choice we can make to take care of ourselves on a daily basis regardless of location and time available. 15 minutes… that’s easy enough to find and it can make all the difference in the world. With that in mind, here’s a brief look at a one-spot cardio workout routine. You can do it in front of the TV, on the balcony, in a park, at the office on your lunch hour, etc. In other words, no more excuses my dears!
- Running in place
It’s easy enough. It’s just a matter of doing it for whatever time you have. I recommend at least 2 minutes and believe me, you’ll be exhausted. If you want to make it even more challenging, include a high jump, both feet together, every 15 seconds!
- Jump and body twist
Another simple exercise. Jump as high as you can with your knees together, landing with your toes pointing left on the left side of your body, and then switch to your right. Continue alternating from one side to the other for 2 minutes. If you want to make it more challenging, increase your pace!
- Jump, knees high
This one is pretty self-explanatory. It’s a simple exercise that’s very effective. Try it for 2 minutes! If you wish, you can alternate knees high jumps with heals-to-butt jumps!
- Jump, 1 foot forward and 1 foot back
Look closely at the pic below. Take that position and alternate it from one side to the other for 2 minutes. If you want to give your arms a good workout, do this exercise while holding light weights in your hands.
Voilà: 8 minutes of cardio completed! Simple enough, right? You can increase the number of sequences or change the duration of the exercises. It’s entirely up to you!
