It’s Monday and you’ve just arrived at the office. The weekend was definitely too short. On top of that, the weather is lousy today. Blah. Level of motivation: zero (and then some). But you know, even as you read this, all is not lost. There are several ways to improve your day. I’m not suggesting that you to call in sick; it’s more a matter of switching up your routine with little luxuries and pleasures that you deserve!

You might think my suggestions are a little too food-centric but I’m so hungry! :)

1. Group Lunch

How about lunch at a trendy restaurant such as LOV or the Venice in Old Montreal! Granted, that area might not exactly be next door for some folks. I KNOW there’s a place in your area that you’ve been dying to try!

2. After-Work Cocktails

Given that it’s Monday, you’re probably not the only one dragging your feet and sporting bags under your eyes. If you haven’t seen your BFF over the weekend, give her a call, or call someone you haven’t heard from in a while and suggest going out for a drink to do some catching up! The weather isn’t great, but indoors, a cocktail in good company certainly is!

3. A Little Retail Therapy

If you absolutely insist upon eating your egg sandwich at your desk, take a little time over your lunch hour to do “a little” of online shopping. Now’s a great time to buy that item you spied at the store the other day because it’s probably on sale at this time of year! If you don’t have internet access, you can always go to the mall after work. PS: you don’t have to buy anything; you can just browse!

4. End the day with a bath

Now’s the time to use that Lush bath bomb you received as a Christmas gift! Brew a pot of tea and try a facial mask. As far as I’m concerned, #HomeSpa is the best spa in the world. Pamper yourself. xoxo

5. Start the day with a luxe breakfast

If you’re reading this article later in the day, then breakfast-time has come and gone. Why not prep the batter for pancakes tonight and get up 30 minutes early tomorrow morning to get your day off to a good start with a yummy home-made breakfast! What do you put on your pancakes? Are you a fan of bananas with a little chocolate or is a mountain of fruit more your style? (When I’m feeling lousy, I eat my pancakes with a little peanut butter and maple syrup. I swear, it’s really yummy!)
